Best 3 Wheel Pushchairs
All-terrain stroller is light durable, sturdy and provides excellent maneuverability. Its compact one-hand fold means it's lightweight and also freestanding when folded. The cushioned seat reclines to a nearly flat position, and there's a huge storage bin and canopy. Newborn suitability? Yes with an additional carrycot.
Air-filled tyres and a good suspension will handle rough terrain well. You can also use it to jog. However, you should wait until the baby is at least 6 or 9 months old.
Ickle Bubba XL Air
This pushchair from Ickle Bubba is an excellent choice for parents who want a lightweight buggy with enhanced features. It is an entire travel system that includes a lie-flat carrycot for infants, a multi-position forward and rear facing pushchair seat as well as a choice of a car seat, meaning you can have everything you need in one place.
The XL Air is a really impressive buggy and it's easy to see why it's received so many high marks from its customers. It is incredibly lightweight - the wheels and chassis weigh only 6.5kg. It is extremely easy to put together. I was able to get it up and running in under five minutes. This is remarkable considering it also includes the ability to attach fabric to the carrycot.
It has a comfortable, wide seat that was comfortable for Annie (who is 12 months) and the recline lever is very simple to use. The basket has plenty of space and I find it nice that the handle bar has a pocket to keep your phone and keys safe.
The handlebar is low, which could be an issue for parents who are taller. It's covered in soft, supple leather-like material that is easy to wipe down.
Hauck Pushchair Runner
The Runner is for parents who enjoy exploring and are always on the go. Its large pneumatic wheels are designed to be used on forest and field paths, and the front wheel can be rotated and locked to give you more flexibility. The stroller comes with a 5-point safety harness with an adjustable front bar that will keep your child safe on all journeys. The parking brake will keep the stroller in place while you rest. The seat can be repositioned to lay down and the canopy can be opened for maximum air circulation during hot days. The handle can be height-adjusted by more than 30 cm to accommodate mum or dad's heights.
Whether you're going for an easy jog or a hike that lasts a while The Runner is ready to accompany you on your journeys with a fully-flat lie-flat seat and suspension air wheels that guarantee smooth, safe ride. The front wheel can be locked for greater stability on narrow streets and congested sidewalks, and the stroller folds easily to fit into car boot spaces and storage areas.
The Runner 2 is a bit more difficult to navigate for some parents than its predecessor. Also the locking system (requiring two buttons on either side of the handlebar) isn't as user-friendly. The handlebar is a little higher than other strollers and therefore it may not work for smaller parents, but overall this is a sturdy and versatile stroller that's worthy of consideration for families with active kids.
Red Kite Push Me Pace
The Pace is a great option from Red Kite, an affordable British brand that prides itself on making simple and well-designed parenting essentials. It's the most recent and most expensive addition to their bargain lightweight stroller range and as with the Ickle Bubba Aurora and Yoyo, is car seat adaptable which means you can use it from the beginning (the carrycot folds away).
The new Pace boasts some fantastic design features, including a rose gold tint to the hood, chassis and stroller trims that really set it apart from its competitors. The cream, grey, and tan fabrics on the stroller and the car seat are super elegant and there is an option to add a co-ordinating leather cover handle and bumper bar too.
The stroller seat can be used from birth to a maximum weight of 22kg. It easily converts into a 2-in-1 reversible position, either facing the parent or world-facing. The stroller seat offers multiple lie back positions, soft padded leg rest support and an extendable sun canopy with concealed zip sections, a viewing transparent flaps, and an retractable sun visor.

What's more, when 3 wheeled pushchair folded it's Pace measures up at 56 x 43 x 32cm which is enough to qualify as hand luggage with Easyjet and Ryanair, among other carriers. Two buttons on each side are easy to use and can be clicked to lock it in place.
Bugaboo Fox 5
Created to be the ultimate all-terrain pushchair, Bugaboo's newest Fox 5 promises to do it all. Its unique chassis has a shorter wheel width that makes it more maneuverable than its predecessor. I tried it out alongside my two kids - a toddler and an eight week old - over rocky pavements as well as woodland walks that are grassy and even cobblestones.
The large puncture-proof wheels, which measure 22cm or 30cm in size are able to handle various terrains. The wheels come with an opening that can be closed or opened to let air in when needed. It's slightly larger than other pushchairs, but it doesn't feel bulky or heavy when you're pushing it over bumpy surfaces.
The seat fabric is machine washable, and the frame and faux leather grips are simple to clean. It's also much quieter than many pushchairs and I felt safe using it in busy city streets. A bonus feature is that it comes with accessory points, which means you can add footmuffs, parasols, changing bags, and even a tray for snacks. The hood can be used to block out rain and wind, however it's not waterproof. The single pram can be fitted with the Comfort Wheeled Board (not included) which allows your child more leg room. It took around 20 minutes to assemble the bassinet, and the same amount of time to convert it into the seat.
UPPAbaby Ridge
Whether you enjoy running in the morning crisp air or a moonlit stroll under the stars, the UPPAbaby Ridge makes every moment a memorable one. This all-terrain stroller is designed to keep you and your child active.
The huge 12" and 16" foam-filled tires provide an easy ride, regardless of the terrain. The patented suspension allows you to glide across trails with little impact on your child's legs as well as rear. The handbrake with a performance disc lets you stop quickly even while running on the downhill slope.
The Ridge is at its best in every city scene from bustling farmers' markets to the street musicians performing music. The spacious basket can hold everything you need and market purchases, while the massive canopy offers protection from wind and sun. The large front canopy opens to reveal two peekaboo windows that make it easy to monitor your little one's surroundings.
The Ridge's reversible seating allows you to choose whether your child faces you, or the world in front. Its simple foot brake system makes it intuitive for parents who are new. The reversible handlebar is wonderful feature that lets you adjust it to your height. The Ridge's fold, unlike other strollers for jogging, is sturdy and self-standing when folded.
iCandy Core
The new pushchair from iCandy is truly innovative and has a lot of features that are really sure to amaze parents. 3 wheeler pushchair comes with a multi-mode wheelbase and an LED Visibility Hub light, which is the first of its kind in the market. It also comes with an integrated Ride-on Board, which helps save on future costs and makes it easier for an exhausted toddler to join your family on outings.
The Core is available as either a travel system or single seat. It is compatible with the most popular car seats, such as those from Cybex Maxi Cosi Joie. It also has the biggest seat in the iCandy range, which means it will last you through your baby's initial years and beyond. It's a gorgeously designed pushchair, and it is made of premium knitted fabric. The child's removable bumper bar and the handlebar that parents can adjust are made of soft leatherette. The calf support folds away are also very comfortable for children.
I was awed by the ease of fold and collapse - it only takes one hand with the seat unit on. It can easily fit in your hallway or boot which makes it perfect for travel. The iCandy Core comes with lots of additional accessories, including an rucksack that matches the colour of your choice and footmuff/liner.
